Sound of Jura owner, resident composer and producer Giles Perring develops his own projects on the island as well working with inspiring and adventurous musical travellers.
The latest project is the World Organ, a sound sculpture which is situated in the studio’s garden. As a way of representing the island, it listens to the sound of Jura, and shapes it, via a wonderful, musical acoustic phenomenon that Giles has harnessed and then streams live from his site at www.worldorgan.com.

Current Projects
In conjunction with live streaming events like the World Organ, and his acclaimed Finale to the CHArts launch in September 2019, ‘The Exchange‘, the studio is also the base from which Giles has been developing the EXPOSURE project with film maker and painter Andy Metcalf. ‘Exposure’ is a multi-arts installation that will be touring galleries and spaces in Scotland, and elsewhere, from the Spring of 2021.
